2025: Tulane University recognizes a Mardi Gras Break on the academic calendar. The University is closed on Lundi Gras, Monday, March 3 and Mardi Gras, Tuesday, March 4.
Mardi Gras is an exciting time, particularly in a culturally rich location like New Orleans. Each year during this time, the city changes tremendously with more than one million people traveling to New Orleans to join the celebration; this is three and a half times the normal population of New Orleans.
Given this, we feel it is more important than ever to make sure that you have the resources needed for a fun and safe Mardi Gras experience.
TUPD and Student Affairs will have staff on-call to respond to emergencies throughout Mardi Gras. If you need to reach TUPD, contact (504) 865-5911 or call the Student Affairs On-Call staff member at (504) 920-9900.
