Fall 2006 Report of the Results of the Staff Profile Assessment
Purpose of Professional Development
Professional development is key to the culture of a learning organization. Through professional development activities we expand our skills, share knowledge, strengthen our community through networking and collaboration, and stimulate new thinking and awareness.
Three overarching themes will guide and inspire our professional development activities this year: 1) Quality/Raising the Bar; 2) Creating Systems of Sustainability; and 3) Responsiveness/Creating a Culture of Caring. Keeping in line with our framework, we will offer a variety of opportunities available to our Student Affairs colleagues that will specifically address trends in our student populations; meeting challenges in higher education; embracing transformation in organizations; and building community.
